JAN PIENAAR

Jan Pienaar grew up on the farm Weltevrede in the Murraysburg district.  After completing his National Service, he attended Graaff Reinet Teachers Training College before joining the then Barclays Bank for 3 years.
He was approached by the then Vleissentraal in 1981 as a livestock marketer.  He was instrumental in the culling and export of Venison from South Africa to Europe with Kovisco.  In his capacity as livestock marketer he worked in Fort Beaufort, Barkley East and Graaff Reinet until 1991 when he relocated to Port Alfred.
Jan was appointed as Stockowners’ first game marketer in the years when this was a completely new field.  With the demise of the company Jan worked freelance for East Cape Game Traders, where he was instrumental in running the first boma and game sales in the Eastern Cape.
He founded Wildlife Marketing in 2004.
Jan Pienaar has been intimately involved in the game industry, and has a vast knowledge of all aspects of the game and wildlife industry.  He has been involved from the very beginning whilst the game industry was still in its infancy, and his experience ranges from capturing, marketing, and of course, game auctions.  Jan has established a wide network of clients, and works closely with policy makers in the wildlife industry.  He currently serves on SECSICOM, representing the game capture industry.  Jan Pienaar is widely respected, and prides himself on his honest and ethical dealings.  Wildlife is Jan’s passion.
